The second outlet of 49 Seats centrally located at Orchard Central remains affordable and easier to enjoy than ever before. The new Orchard Central outlet is open daily for lunch and dinner, whereas the main outlet at Chinatown is open for dinner and supper only. The menu for both outlets are the same, featuring the popular Tom Yam seafood pasta, Creamy Smoked Duck Pasta, Old Fashioned Fish and Chips and more.

Do you know that 49 Seats has about 10 signature must try dishes and not just one or two? We probably tried everything on the menu, except for desserts as it was not available when we were there. 49 Seats serve a good range of light bites, pastas and main courses. No matter what your choices, there is always something exciting to look forward to. I would strongly recommend the light bites - Cheese fries (must order), Popcorn chicken (not featured) and Fish bites. For mains, you must go for the legendary Tom Yam pasta if you are a spicy lover. We love the special blend of the tom yam which gives the pasta an irresistibly creamy taste. You can also try the best selling Creamy smoked duck pasta (we requested for aglio olio instead of cream base); and for the rest of the mains they were cooked just right, but weren't exciting enough. As for desserts, we didn't get to try any, but there are just three selections on the menu - Wicked brownie with ice cream, Classic banana spilt and Waffle with ice cream.

What struck me most was the value, all the dishes are priced below $20 nett except one dish - the Sirloin Al Scampi at $24.90 (not featured). 49 Seats is super affordable for students and adults alike, this casual dining place is definitely good for groups, however reservations are recommended.
