"King Of Ramen" Chabuton Second Outlet At Tampines 1

CHABUTON (October 2014) Chef Yasuji Morizumi, the world’s first ramen chef to receive a Michelin star, opens his second outlet in Singapore at Tampines 1.

Following the success of the flagship outlet at 313@Somerset that just opened three months, Chabuton is now welcoming a second outlet on the Eastern part of the island, where more Singaporeans can get to enjoy the highly raved ramen.
I had the privilege to attend the grand opening of Chabuton Tampines and witnessed the impactful, intensely physical and thrilling Taiko drumming performance, before we were treated to fresh sake and prestigious ramen.
The sake was served in the wooden box called masu. You can actually drink sake out of the masu as this is a traditional Japanese way of drinking Sake.

Drinking sake from the masu bears a feeling close to nature, and interestingly the sake tasted better and more aromatic that you can swallow every drop of it.

The menu at Chabuton Tampines is curated the same as its flagship outlet. The marquee mainstays like Chabuton Tonkotsu Ramen, Chabuton Kara Kara Ramen, Chabuton Shoyu Zaru Ramen, Hitokuchi Gyoza and other side dishes are available at both outlets.

You can find the review about the flagship Chabuton 313@Somerset outlet here.

Hitokuchi Gyoza ($5.00 for 8 pcs)

These bite-sized dumplings serve as a perfect side dish to Chabuton’s ramen dishes. Encased in crispy pastry skin is soft and juicy pork meat filling. The gyoza also comes in a soupy version of chicken collagen broth.

Ika Karaage (Fried Squid $5)
Fried Oysters ($6.00 for 3)
Chicken Tatsuda Age (Fried Chicken $5)

Chabuton Tonkotsu Ramen (Junior portion $8.30, Regular portion $11.90)

This is Chabuton’s signature ramen. The rich and creamy broth is the culmination of many hours of simmering pork bones. A slice of char siew rests atop the al dente ramen. Japanese leek and white sesame are also added to enliven the overall taste.

For those who prefer their soup to be more flavourful with a spicy kick, you can add Kara spicy minced pork for just a dollar.

Shio and Miso ramen options are available, if you are looking for a clear or miso based soup.
Top up an extra $3.00 to get the Ajitsuke Tamago (Soft Boiled Egg) and Buta Kakuni (Braised Pork Belly not featured) to complete your ramen meal.
Char Siew Don

Chabuton Shoyu Zaru Ramen (Junior portion $10.50, Regular portion $11.90)

Something different from the standard ramen. This dish features thin-style cold ramen served with warm Japanese soy sauce soup. After finishing the noodles, customers can request for the Wari Soup and take the enjoyment up a notch by adding it to the bowl of soup.
