The iconic Harry's Bar at Boat Quay has been a hit for working professionals nearby, and the outlet at Marina Bay Link Mall (MBLM) is no stranger to many.
Harry's is reputed for its convivial and laid-back vibe that appeals to the trendy young crowd and working professionals with its casual and hip dining concept.
The reopened MBLM outlet now sports a contemporary look with modern chic interiors characterised by eclectic touches of sleek light fixtures.
I was told that the rest of the Harry's outlets will also be revamped and rolled out with the updated menu in line with the brand's objective of keeping abreast with the fast-changing food and beverage scene.
Here's a sneak peek at what the refreshed menu will be.
Harry's Wingmen $8 (4 pcs) / $11 (6 pcs)
A familiar sight to the young and matured, the signature Harry's Wingmen - deliciously addictive Secret marinated chicken wings make a perfect sidekick to the exclusive Harry's Premium Lager (HPL).
Love Me Tandoor $18 (6 pcs)
Another small plate offering is the Love Me Tandoor. The tender chicken skewers are marinated with a feisty tandoori blend and grilled for complementing smokiness. Served with red onions, mint yogurt and coriander for a flavourful feast.
Pulled Pork Sandwiches $8 (3 pcs)
Three mini sandwiches of slow-cooked pulled pork with pickled vegetables and tangy BBQ sauce. I was a little underwhelmed by the cocktail buns, as the menu indicated sandwiches I was expecting a bigger bite. Good for the ladies and feeding the "smaller-eaters".
Prawn Star Pasta $19
For pastas, one of the recommendation is the Al dente spaghettini tossed in aromatic crustaceans-infused oil with plump, juicy tiger prawns and topped with Japanese seaweed.
Other pasta options include the Smoked Chicken Carbonara, Sausage Bolognaise, and the Penne Arrabbiata.
Curried Lamb Shank $29
Bringing big dishes on the table is the NZ Lamb Shank that is marinated in aromatic curry spices and braised till fork-tender. Served with rice pilaf and raisins.
Mushrooms and Truffle Oil Flatbread $20
Pizza lovers and who wants to foray into vegetarian can indulge in this a-la-minute baked Flatbread. The crisp flatbread are smothered with homemade aioli and drizzled with truffle oil for the seductive aroma. Mushrooms are always a good option.
Black Forest Sundae $16
Reimagine the black forest cake deconstructed by Culinary Director Daniel Sia. Desserts satisfy with a classic pairing of ice cream topped with freshly baked brownie squares and dark cherries.
Apple and Pear Crumble $15
My vote for sweet indulgence goes out to this comforting Warm Apple and Pear Crumble crowned with a buttery crust and served with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream.
Harry's updated menu is not limited to these few, the new menu offerings feature 8 small plates, 16 large plates, platters and dessert selections.
For drinks, Harry's stocks an extensive variety of alcohol from premium wines, spirits and beers. Harry's signature cocktails such as the Harry's 1992 ($15), Harry's Old Fashioned ($15), and other cocktail favourites are conjured in-house by the Harry's bartenders.
VERDICT
With a fresh new menu that is available all-day, it is exciting to know that Harry's a great venue for both lunch and dinner. Those working nearby whom have not discovered this sporty bar should consider dropping by soon.
